The Amazing Sew Into Fashion Show took place on Friday 6th July at Lincoln Drill Hall. Students from 9 schools had been working as part of the Fashion Academy programme since the autumn creating garments and accessories for the school collections. The show was the highlight of the programme and gave students the opportunity to work on make-up, hair and choreography to complement their outfits.
The theme ‘Best of British’ was explored in original ways from ‘British Business Babes’ to ‘Remembrance Poppies’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’. The show was a fantastic success with the collections impressing an audience of students, parents and industry professionals. The students had a fabulous day and really shone on the catwalk. The evening ended with the Sew Into Fashion Awards ceremony when Janome awarded sewing machines as prizes for the schools awards. There were also awards for individual students including the Young Designer Award 2012 chosen by British Designer Wayne Hemingway.
